ABOUT US

Date of foundation:

18th January, 2006 in Sarajevo

CICOP is international centre for preservation of cultural heritage.

Non - governmental institution connected with the Federation of International Centers for the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage, with its headquarters at the Canary Islands for the regions of Africa, Europe, and American continent.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITY:

· Collecting, studying, and publication of documentation and participation regarding technical, scientific, and legal aspects of protection, preservation, restoration, and management of cultural heritage, both immovable and movable, that are the integral part of historical and cultural heritage at national and international level.

· Coordination, promotion and support to the exchange of information regarding historical cultural heritage, and definition of mechanisms for protection in the case of natural disasters or war activities.

· Promotion of the realization of specialized courses, national and international seminars, workshops, conventions and congresses, exhibitions, study trips or similar initiatives in cooperation with university institutions, research centers, museums, and governmental and nongovernmental institutions, both domestic and international.

· Stimulating and promoting know-how, expanding the creation, evolution, contribution of international achievements of historical cultural heritage, as well as alternative solutions, protection and preservation, including participation of expert teams from different fields that belong to the Association of Federation of International Centre of the same name.

· Providing help to projects that aim the revitalization of special crafts that are relevant for historical, artistic, and cultural heritage. Promoting and supporting exchange of scholars, professionals and specialists from this field, as well as from the field of technology, materials, methods and techniques of protection, preservation and restoration of cultural-historic heritage.

· Maintaining the cooperation regarding the protection and management of heritage with the competent Italian administration, as well as with institutions, analogous centers, museums, universities, and other.

· Support to overcoming of "static" concepts of policy towards the heritage, encouraging the development of dynamic relations with the territory and the region to which it belongs.
