The results of the International Student Competition for Architectural Solution of Two Heritage Sites:
“Vaso Miskin Crni” and “Firuz‐Bey Hamam”
Organizers of the First Biennial of Architectural and Urban Restoration (5th-30th October, 2011 – Florance – Orvieto) and 4th H & mH International Conference (13th – 16th June, 2011 – Sarajevo) congratulates everyone for participating on the International Student Competition for Architectural Solution of Two Heritage Sites: “Vaso Miskin Crni” and “Firuz‐Beg Hamam”.
“Firuz Bay’s Hamam”
Jury have recieved 11 of participant proposals and it used its right to modify a number of awards from 1 to 4 awards.
Firuz Bey's Hamam is located in the Old City of Sarajevo, still there are remains of the walls of the former public bath, and preserved memory of place. Property (ie, the site remains) was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it should be treated as an archaeological site with a strong memory. The solution should preserve the remains of the hamam (conservation) and to deal with the conflict „old and new“ solved in an innovative manner. No functional program is being given, so it was up to participants to choose the purpose of space and to cosider the contextual, environmental and sociological aspects of their proposal.

Jury have recieved only one student proposal, so ,according to the adopted conditions, the specific Competition has been canceled .
All awards includes a presentation of the project proposal on the Biennial of Architectural and Urban Restoration (5th-30th October, 2011 – Florance – Orvieto), with the money prize of 500 € for the First award.

Prof. Arch. Nina Avramidou (President of the jury)-Vice-President of CICOP-Federation for Europe, President of CICOP-Italy, University of Florence
PhD, Architect Cristiano Teodoro Maio – Architect, expert in in design and project management
Mr. Sci. Mevludin Zečević, Faculty of Architecture, University of Sarajevo, in substitution of Prof. Arch. Carla Giuseppina.
Arch. Pierpaolo Mattioni - Expert in Urban Design
According to it, four main Jury criteria were adopted:
- Originality of re-design proposal
- Relationship to the urban environment and importance of the place
- Accuracy of design details
- Quality and clarity of both: the presentation and the representation

Do not feel obligated to use this template if you want to present your work on your own way. Before your presentation begins, there should be a slide show which displays short information of your presentation topic and short biography of the author(s). For it, please use Intro-template.

Important notification - STUDENT COMPETITION
Competition posters in PDF format to be sent via e-mail to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or if the file is too big, upload it on some of filehosting sites like Rapidshare, Filesonic or similar web site and send the download link to competition e-mail. Codes should be placed on posters without names. E-mails should contain full name and code. Authors choose their own codes.

"THE IMPORTANCE OF PLACE" PHOTO CONTEST
Photography Contest is part of related activities in preparation and implementation of the Fourth International Conference on Hazards & Modern Heritage - "The Importance of Place" wich will last from 13 to 16 June 2011. in Sarajevo.
The goal of the contest is to promote the importance of place and the need of its protection, attractiveness of places, intimate experience and perspective of experience (sensation, perceptions, concepts, emotions, thoughts), promotion and recognition of identity, spatial representation of the quality and location.
Detailed description of contest, awards, conditions of participation, guidelines and other informations are available for download (click here). It is on bosnian language, cause of limiting Contest participants on Bosnian citizens, amateurs and professionals in photography.
Photo Contest includes award for author(s) of best photo and exhibition of selected photos in the conference events.
Contest is opened until May 18th 2011

Deadline for submitting Competition works for 1st Students Conference is extended to May 15th 2011

According to numerous requests by conference participants, organizers decided to postpone paper submission deadline to March15th 2011

After successful abstract submission period, it is time for submitting your papers for 4th H&mH Conference in Sarajevo.
Paper submission deadline is March 15th, 2011.
Submission procedure is now available via online application. Click on submission icon at the top of the article and by clicking on “Make a Submission” hyperlink on the application page, fill out paper information fields and upload your paper.
You’ll get your Submission ID and create your password for further editing and reviewing your submission information till the deadline of paper submission.
Participants of 1st Students Conference are also invited to use this online application form to submit their papers.
For all the confusion and possible questions in the application form, there is second tab “E-mail Chair” on the application page where you can send an e-mail to administrator.
